Actor Lee Joon-Gi was invited as a guest on SBS variety show Family Outing. Famous actor Lee Jungi will be the next guest star on the popular SBS Show "Family Outing." The filming took place from May 4th to 5th in Southern South Korea in South Gyeongsang, near the sea.

One of the staff members of Family Outing stated that Lee Jungi got along well with the other co-stars of Family Outing and that they participated in many games, they also tried to catch fish.

The episodes are scheduled to air on May 17th and May 24th. I wonder if it'll be as good as the T.O.P guest starring on Family Outing episodes. It’s a new type of drama which attracts those who watch it. The main character Lee Jun Ki told us about his thoughts and charms about the drama.

When someone was looking for a ‘hero’ which is only possible with him, he met [Iljimae] like a fate.

It’s a drama where I’ve put my all into during my 20s.

There were some images of Iljimae which overlapped like his.

Lee Jun Ki was praised by saying “a man who is more beautiful than women” and was raised to stardom. His beauty didn’t change but he got manlier. Recently, his images of maturity seem to be revealed from the shadow. Especially, his manly charm could be seen through his low-toned voice. [Time between dog and wolf] where he cut his hair short, and from the traditional drama [Iljimae] where his heroic actions could be seen to seek revenge of his parents, these tough roles make him even more manly in a sophisticated way. This kind of man decided to have an interview with me. Let’s first hear about his participation in [Ilijimae].

Jun Ki’s quote:
I wanted to act out a hero which can only be done by me. Of course there are many heroes in history but to portray those people, I’m still inexperienced both in age and acting experience. In terms of thinking about “what kind of heroic image is easy to create”, I thought of the hero [Iljimae]. In Iljimae’s image, there are many changing images and I felt like there were some similarities with me. Thinking about the basic cool image of a hero, Iljimae naturally came into mind. During that time, I heard that there was going to be a drama about Iljimae and when I actually had the script in hand, I thought “ah, I really want to act this out” and decided right away. So I didn’t hesitate at all and decided to participate in it. It seems like I met this role like a fate.

You acted a character which is similar to the one in the [Time between dog and wolf] but showed that they were distinct characters through your acting.

This project was made many times in the past but this drama [Iljimae] is original. The only similar thing is that the main character is called Iljimae.

A son from a prestigious family, Geom, sees his father being killed in front of his eyes. He left home and while he was running away, he lost his memory and lives his life as Yong, the son of a man who’s related with his father’s death. However, he recovers his memory and becomes a hero to seek revenge of his father. Since it was original, he (Lee Jun KI) told me that it was fun to create the image of the main character from the beginning. But one thing, the part where the main character loses his memory is the same as the [Time between dog and wolf] so he probably paid special attention to that part.

Jun Ki’s quote:
That’s true about the memory loss but in the case with Iljimae, the main character has a trauma so the character is overlapped by grudge associated with his parents. To express this situation differently from the previous drama, I paid special attention to this part. I lived as bright Yong who didn’t know anything but when he recovers his memory about his father’s death, the change in character was so dramatic that it was hard to balance out between the two characters. I checked the monitor constantly and tried my best in acting.

I agree with the producer’s idea of making the actor create the character in the drama. He told me that in the shooting site, he constantly shared ideas with Lee Yong Suk producer and kept the drama going. This process was really fun and made him more enthusiastic.

Jun Ki’s quote:
The idea of “creating it together” was really big. The conversation which came up not too long after the drama shoot began was that “a character is not made by the producer but by the person who’s acting it out so think about them yourself. I’ll decide on how strong your expressions must be”. Difficult parts where it was hard to understand the character’s emotions were discussed and acted out. When you’re checking your own acting, you sometimes think about producing a drama yourself but when you see the producer suffering, you think that you’ll definitely not be able to do it (laughs). You can create a character but it’s a lot of work to control everything.

I heard that Lee Yong Suk producer gives out detailed orders to the actors in the beginning but when you reach a certain point, I heard that he lets the actors do everything themselves. He was happy that all the participants this time understood his style. Of course, he’s complimenting everything about Lee Jun Ki. Among everything, the producer was most amazed by his crying scenes.

Jun Ki’s quote:
I’m confident with crying scenes. I’ve never been in a difficult situation when it comes to tears. On the contrary, it was more difficult for me to suppress my emotions but I don’t recall any situations where I couldn’t let my tears fall. I prepare some crying acts beforehand since not all tears are the same. The meanings in them change in certain timings and situations. In [Iljimae], I acted out a few crying scenes and chose one out of the many. When editing, the producer chose the appropriate scene for the drama.

A lot of crying scenes where the producer would think “why would those tears fall like that” are seen a lot throughout the drama. It would be fun to compare how in some scenes, he cries his eyes out and in others, let his tears fall meekly. In all the scenes, Lee Jun Ki told me a scene where he felt the saddest and couldn’t resist his tears from falling.

Jun Ki’s quote:
No matter what, it was the part where my sister died. I worried a lot about that scene. Seeing my sister die in front of my eyes, I couldn’t just plainly cry or show emotions as if I’ve lost everything. On top of that, I had to show Yong’s bright side in front of others…I thought about how I could act out those complicated feelings effectively. Also, this scene in the drama was chosen as the best scene so it especially comes into mind.

He finally finds his sister Yeon, acted out by Son Tae Young, but she was caught working while hiding her identity as Lee Won Ho’s daughter. After causing trouble, he was locked up in a cell with his sister but didn’t recognize her. He felt extremely troubled for not being able to rescue his sister who is about to be killed. In this scene, you can see Lee Jun Ki’s true acting skills.

Through [Iljimae], you learned about action! Another thing to note while watching the drama is his realistic action scenes. He really enjoys doing action scenes and can’t sleep at night due to frustration if he had to use to stuntman (substitute) just because he couldn’t do a certain action scene.

Jun Ki’s quote:
Not one of the action scenes was difficult for me. On the contrary, it was fun. But I would lose some of my physical strength throughout the day so the condition of my body became kind of bad. Once it turns out that way, it becomes more difficult to express with my body so that part was troublesome but it was really fun acting. I especially like action scenes so I enjoyed it a lot. I chose this drama to put my all into during my 20s so I learned many things. When choosing the next project, this project helped me learn about my own self.

I think you can feel that you’ve improved. As an actor in his 20s, what kind of character do you want to act out next?

Jun Ki’s quote:
Yes, that seems true. Once, I wanted to act out a psychopath but since that kind of character is often seen nowadays, I think that I don’t necessarily have to try it out now. Thinking about my age, I think it’s good to act out a romantic comedy drama. However, it’s kind of uneasy to think love lightly in your 20s so I’m kind of thinking about it right now (laughs).

This spring, Lee Jun Ki turned 27. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of future projects he will choose but for a little while, I hope that he’ll show us his young self which is only possible in his 20s.

The day before yesterday (28th May), Lee Jun Ki's 2009 Shanghai's performance concert,meeting with the media and the fans was held in Shanghai Skyway Pullman Hotel. Lee Jun Ki who was wearing a black suit arrived waving and smiling. Before the press conference starts, the host gave the reporters around 20 seconds to take photo, Lee Jun Ki displayed different poses, the smile on the face throughout the whole process used up quite a lot of the reporters' film.

Q1: It has been a year since you came to Shanghai, there is a chance to come to Shanghai to open a performance concert now, what are your feelings to Shanghai as you come to Shanghai this time round?

Lee Jun Ki (shortened as Jun Ki as below): I feel very happy to come to Shanghai once again after a year, I hope everybody will give their support for the public performance concert in Shanghai this time.

Q2: Lee Jun Ki always use an actor's identity to carry out some events, what is the reason of you becoming a singer?

Lee Jun Ki: That is because of one reason, that would be my fans, I have always been interacting with my fans through dramas and movies all the while and I feel that it is not enough. The release of album and the opening of performance concert is only to have a better interaction with my fans.

Q3: Lee Jun Ki is holding 2 performance concerts in Shanghai and Hangzhou, will there be any invited guests at the live performance?

Lee Jun Ki: For Shanghai, I have invited E.Z Band(Korean new band) who will sing 2 songs during the live performance, everybody please give them your support, as for Hangzhou, I still haven't decide.

Q4: We know that Lee Jun Ki had released a new album 'J-style' not long ago, one of the songs is composed specially for the fans, so what makes you want to compose a song for the fans?

Lee Jun Ki: The reason for writing the lyrics is because I feel that the first FANMEETING Episode 1 in Korea back then, I feel that this kind of present is not enough, I am thinking of getting involved in some myself personally, to do something for the FANS with more effort. Therefore, I did some discussion with the staff and director, and proposed some of my own ideas, and composed this song, I also like to write some poetry, lyrics something myself too. I hope everybody will like it.

Q5: You always carry out events as an actor, will there be any events that will be carried out as a singer? What are your future plans?

Lee Jun Ki: Lee Jun Ki always use an actor's identity to meet and interact with the fans through dramas and movies, I will participate more in other activities to interact with fans in the future, I did not consider of carrying out activities as a singer.

Q6: There are 300 fans here now, but there are still many fans who are outside, can you say something to them?

Lee Jun Ki: I am always thankful to my families, I will use the meeting to repay the constant love from everybody, I will use more different images to thank everybody in a better way, everybody please give me your support.

Q7: There is some continously sad things that happened in the korean entertainment industry, it's very stressful in the entertainment industry, how does Lee Jun Ki relieve stress?Where does the stress come from?

Lee Jun Ki: I don't feel any stress all the while, I always look at the bright side, I'm very open-minded, and will not feel burdened because of the new artists appearing in the entertainment industry, in fact, this is a good sign, I will use competition to overcome stress, to show myself.

Q8: What do you think is the most difficult part with regards to the performance concert?

Lee Jun Ki: I don't feel that there is any difficult part. I always feel happy to prepare for the FM, I hope everyone will give their support.

Q9: Today is Dragon Boat festival, will Jun Ki who is away from home feel lonely? Do you eat dumplings in Korea?

Lee Jun Ki: My fans are like my family, my Korea's family and China's family are one family, I will not feel lonely in China, because I am also having Dragon Boat festival with my family, did anyone brought dumplings here? (looking for dumplings..)

Q10: Will Lee Jun Ki be meeting everybody with new movie and drama recently?

Lee Jun Ki: Initially, there is supposed to be a new work that will start shooting early this year. but it is always delayed because of some reasons, I feel that I have disappoint everybody's expectations, so I used other activities to replace, hope this will do some compensation , to repay everyone's support. Everybody will get to see my new work end of this year or next year, please look forward to it.

Q11: There is a rumor earlier, you are holding FM in Shanghai and Hangzhou this time, and you hold it in Hangzhou because of one girl, so is there such a thing?

Lee Jun Ki: Nothing sort of this!This news is fake, I always don't have scandal,I also want scandal, it's a good thing to have scandal, but I really don't have scandal, this kind of scandal is developed, it is a very interesting thing, though it's not real. The FM in Shanghai and Hanghai held this time, is only the starting point, I will be going to other places to carry out activities if I have the chance in the future.

Q12: Will Lee Jun Ki still be using the same way to interact with the fans 10 years later?

Lee Jun Ki: I hope FM this kind of activity will be a long-term one, can always continue to hold it, Lee Jun Ki with a combination of actor and singer as one, it's the first case in Korea, I always treat Andy Lau as my idol, he also use a combination of actor and singers' identities to interact with the fans, I learn alot from him, I hope that I will be like Andy Lau 10 years later.

Lee Jun Ki: The actors/actors I had worked with are all talented actors/actresses, it is too difficult for me if I have to chose who is better, everybody is very talented, I learnt alot of things when we worked together. Last time, I said I like cute,girls who are older than me, but it is always changing, there is no fixed type of girl I like. I am also hoping the destined one will come, but it has not now.
